There will be a great need for more caregivers over the next decade. Simply because as millions of Baby Boomers age, there will be an increase in the demand for caregivers both medical and non-medical.

To add to the challenge is that the current caregiving workforce is also aging and will eventually leave the field, leaving more openings that need to be filled.

So from what has been reported there is going to be a large demand, which is expected to be over 1 million new caregivers needed over the next decade according to the Paraprofessional Healthcare Institute (PHI).

In my area, some of the jobs in highest demand require strong technical skills (engineering, accounting, etc.). We are also seeing a shortage in skilled health care jobs (such as nursing).

Welders, dentists in rural areas, politicians who can compromise. Medical field - watch for the cuts coming over the next few months as these budget cuts take effect and states play games with Medicare funding.

The trend is high tech jobs. The Federal Government has a lot of jobs that are listed. Also look for your state listing. The medical profession is growning very fast, RN, LPN, CNA, and support personnel. Remember there are also jobs that don't pay very much money, and don't require any certification or college degree.Teachers are in demand, and support personnel. The machine and manufacturing is not at its highest level today, and a lot of the manufacturing has been shipped out of the country, because its cheaper. If you have a college degree, even if it's not in your field, you may be able to fit into some other kind of job.

You can try work at home jobs. I am not sure, but I think most people do overlook that there is another way to find a job. When you are not sure about the job the best option is to do your research on the job you are applying for. Work at home jobs are now booming in the economy. I have seen many jobs that can be done at home, there are some that hire you with benefits and most of them are just for independent contractor, but they are still work it.

Healthcare is in big demand right now. But beware. Only prosperous countries can afford the expense of high-tech equipment and facilities and of paying people to care for others.

Basic economic fact: Prosperity depends on mining, farming, fishing, and manufacturing. Everything else depends on those. All of them are in trouble.

As the U.S. continue its slide into "third-worldism", where will the resources for the LUXURY of fancy medical care come from?

Clint Eastwood (Dirty Harry):

"I know what you're thinking: 'Did he fire six shots or only five?' But to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I've kinda lost track myself. But being this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel lucky?' Well, do ya, punk?"

If you think the U.S. will remain somewhat prosperous, then go for getting into the medical field. But, ask yourself: "Do I feel lucky?"
