The Faint - Banded Sea snake, also known as Hydrophis belcheri or Belcher's Sea Snake, is the world’s most poisonous/venomous snake. Hydrophis belcheri snakes lives in water of Indian Ocean especially in Philippines: Visayan area, Panay; New Guinea, Gulf of Thailand, Australia, Solomon Islands, and Ashmore Reef in the Timor Sea. When fully provoked, Hydrophis belcheri will spite venom enough to kill 10,000 people. Fortunately, Hydrophis belcheri is a very docile which will hardly bite you – you need to provoke it severally for it to unleash the deadly bite that will kill you in only a few minutes. The Hydrophis belcheri is a snake that spends most of its time in water. This snake is a good swimmer with a paddle-like tail like all other sea snakes. This snake will grow to be 3 feet in length and will usally have a thin body which is chrome yellowish in color and with dark greenish bands.
Libby101a had this to say about Hydrophis belcheri snake: “Hydrophis Belcheri is 100 times more venomous than the Inland Taipan. Only a couple of mg of this snake's myotoxic venom is plenty enough to kill an estimate of more than a thousand people. If this snake injects its venom, death will follow within a few minutes. It is the most toxic venomous snake known to date and holds the record in the Guinness Book of Worlds Records. Most people are behind on current research! The internet is behind as well! Very few places list accurate infomation on the most toxic species of snake in the world!”

I love this kind of information. I was wondering just how poisonous they are? The most poisonous Taipan, is it the volume of the poison or the qualities of the poison? It sounds like both. Rattlesnakes are dangerous little buggers, but I sure don't want to meet that Taipan. If you are injected with enough venom to kill 100 people, what are your chances of survival? I never even heard of it before. Thanks for the interesting information.
Thank you for your great research and information. The very sight would make break all speed records.
Hydrophis belcheri's venom kills 10,000 people at once. We no need war with weapons. Like this some snakes are enough to fight . Thank u for this information.
The taipan is the most venomous land snake in the world, although a successful anti-venom has been developed. But with almost all of these snakes, the only way to be bitten is if you provoke, step, or sit on them!!
I'd hate to be bitten by the Banded Sea Snake and be responsible for the deaths of 9,999 other innocent people! Of course, I would be dead too, but, still.
Maybe, out of the other 9,999 people, they wouldn't all be innocent.
Great hub!
Australia has all the nasty ones :)
Interesting article that almost frightened me with those colorful pics of dangerous snakes.

Really great hub. I heard the Philippines cobra was the most deadly in the world. It hangs out in the luzon region though, not the Visayans and is somewhat known for living on rice farms and biting farmers. Death comes super quick. Scarey creatures for sure.
Thank you for sharing this info. I knew a lot of this, but I know that a lot of people don't.
