Getting a Job
Naturally, when employees look for employment opportunities they consider factors such as potential for career advancement in future, the location of the job, salary, benefits, as well as prospect of the company surviving in the market for many years to come. Companies that are good at retrenching employees when the economic conditions are bad are not very popular to be considered as best employers by the employees. Unfortunately, getting a job is very difficult these days and employees should be prepared to take what they are offered by the employer.
Wives and Husbands
You can seek employment in any of these world’s biggest companies. It is very safe to be employed by such companies. Wives and husbands have reported they find it very comfortable when both wife and husband are working together in the same company.
Blue Chip Stocks
If you can not get employment in one of these companies, you can as well buy the company. You buy the company by buying its stocks. Most of these companies are blue chip stocks.
Where Did The Name “Blue Chip" Originate From? What Are The Characteristics Of Blue Chip Stocks?
A blue chip is a common stock of a large, prestigious, prosperous, stable corporation and known company whose stock value and dividends are reliable. The blue chip stocks typically have high price and low yield but are usually safe investments. And one may wonder why these companies are called blue chips and not green chips or red chips. The name “blue chip” originated from the game of poker where the blue chips have the highest value and as such since these companies have higher value, the name blue chip was coined for these world’s largest companies.

The statistics shows still US companys in highest in rank with more number of employees. Thank us for sharing.
Damn, I've worked at a Wal-Mart on 3rd shift (night-shift) and the work ethic within the walls of that imbecilic haven is practically a non-existent virtue. I don't know about the other stores that are found within random districts thoughout the U.S., but the one I was at...is a cross between an insane asylum, petting zoo, kindergarten class, day care center and, the rare, separate factions of collegiate rejects that had nothing else better to do but dwell inside a Wal-Mart.
Excuse me?
A more germane comment: That was a nice, informative post; keep up the good work!
thanks for this easy to read and reference list.
Thanks for sharing.
good info
Russian Railways?
The company is one of the biggest railway companies in the world with 1.2 million employees and a monopoly within Russia.
You did not mention Russian Railways in 2nd place- 950,000 employees
Russian Railways is one of the largest Industrial venture. Again, Nobody messes with the Russians.

Does anyone knowwhere can I find a total list of companies (or organisations)in the world that have more than 100,000 employees, irrespective of turnover?
Many thanks.
Robert
Where's Foxconn, manufacturer of the iPhone, etc. (out of China). I've seen data indicating that they have 0.5 to 0.9 million employees.
The NHS in the UK employes 1.2 million people
Hello, indian railways have more than 15 lakhs employees n in good position regarding revenue.
Interesting but where is ISS A/S the world's 4th largest private company by number of employees?
G4S 600,000 employees not on your list????????????
As a Dane I'm disapppinted you didn't include ISS with their 520,000 employees...
I heard that Manpower has 1,000,000 employees but surely that can't be true?
Did you know that Walmarts has million dollar life insurance policies on the store greeters? Does this not seem a little underhanded? I know it makes me queasy, and I have to restrain myself from telling the little old lady at the door about it.... voted up.lily
where is the indian railway..........
in the UK the national health service employs 1,200,000 people
accor has over 140,000
G4s has in excess of 600000 employees. Shouldn't it be on this list?
have u ever heard about indian railways?
With Walmart's huge number of employees, their payroll is probably far less than most of those on the list.
